New Harbour

New Harbour

The Trinity Slade headquarters established an early branch here, and very likely carried on shipbuilding; they built a large house for the agent’s residence. The branch was closed, and the house and the extensive premises, on what has long been known as Newhook’s Point, were sold to John Bingley Garland & Co., of Trinity. About 1850, the house and premises were bought by the local shipbuilders, Charles Newell Newhook.
